We start this episode with a nice battle against the giant Thrym. In previous episode, I wasn’t sure if those twin monsters are classified as “raid boss” or not, but Thrym is certainly a raid boss. Again, it’s rather unrealistic to have few players win against a raid boss with legendary weapon in their FIRST try. But well, they have Yui, an artificial intelligence object who used to have GM (game master) privilege. I guess having a GM in your party already make all your winnings could almost qualify as “cheating”.
Next we have Freyja turns into a big-ugly Thor after receiving his legendary hammer back. Trap is the new normal in anime, so I guess we just have to deal with it, lol. Look at poor Klein’s face when he saw his crush transforms into an old man.
It’s great to see once again our side characters shine in battles. It’s really good that they don’t let Kirito steals the show and defeat Thrym single-handedly. Plus, it’s great to see that Kirito’s legendary sword is saved by Sinon. Indeed Kirito should remember who got it for him every-time he draws the sword.
The introduction of Verdandi and Skuld as Uruzu’s sisters totally reminds me of Aats! Megumi-sama, a classic anime I watched years ago. Awesome arc with nice closure. Hope for even better arc to close this season.
