This is a story about two very powerful trees from ancient time: Tree of Genesis and Tree of Exodus. Long before the existence of humans, those trees fight each other and severely wounded, making them entering dormant condition. A group of people can do magic by presenting a product of civilization to the Tree of Genesis. A girl named Hakaze is the most powerful of them all, being blessed as Princess of Genesis.

The story starts with two friends, Mahiro and Yoshino. After the death of his younger sister (named Aika), Yoshino stopped going to school and disappeared. Only when strange things started to happen in the city they live in, Mahiro appeared in front of Yoshino, with an ability to use magic using some sorts of artifacts. By chance, Mahiro found a little wooden doll on a shore, and the doll turns out to be a communication device. Hakaze, Princess of Genesis, is trapped in a deserted island of unknown location. Without any “product of human civilization” on that island, she can not do any magic, and her only hope is creating that communication doll, release it to the sea, hoping that someone will find it, and help her to escape. Being a good planner, Hakaze already prepared a lot of artifacts (consumable, disappears after few uses) which allow ordinary humans to use magic. And so Mahiro and Yoshino are now using those artifacts to escape from their city where people turns into metal due to a strange phenomena.

In helping Hakaze, Mahiro only have one goal: to find out the killer of Aika. And Hakaze agreed to help him using magic.

After lots of scenes, it is revealed that Hakaze was kidnapped and left on that island by Samon (a mage) and his group, who fears the great change that might come into the world when Tree of Genesis finally recovers. They feared that Tree of Genesis will judge the current world as a “corrupted” one, and might decide to completely erase it to start a new one, at least that’s what they believe. In order to prevent the tragedy, they try to revive Tree of Exodus. Hoping the two trees will fight each other again, reach a balance point without destroying the current world. Getting rid of Hakaze is one of the key plan, as Hakaze will be able to stop their plan if she’s around.

Samon claims that he has collected Hakaze’s bones from the island, means that Hakaze already dead two years ago, proven by a complete set of skeleton. So Hakaze who talks to Mahiro and Yoshino is Hakaze from two years ago, communicating from past time. Samon offers to help Mahiro to find Aika’s murderer, and since Mahiro cares about finding the killer more than saving the world, he agrees. Only to find out that no one from Samon’s clan did the murder, means the murderer might be Mage of Exodus, if he/she exists.

Yoshino changes the whole situation by offering some idea that Hakaze might still be able to be alive. If Hakaze can find a product of civilization on that island, she will be able to teleport her body (from the past) to her bones (current time), leaving her past bones on the island.
